For me, like most, photography has always been another way for me to document what I am doing, making, etc. Unlike most it has also been a way for me to document what I am seeing; a type of self verification and self analysis. It came to my attention early on that not everyone saw what I saw. Rather than subscribe to any notion of less than a clean slate on full mental health, and preferring the term sighted or seer long before I adopted the mantle of artist, photos have been my way of comforting and encouraging myself that I indeed had “all my marbles.” So, unlike many artists who prefer their viewers to decide for themselves what a work of art is or isn’t, I do name my works. It does suggest you see what I see, but then many see that and more. Hopefully, you will enjoy this imagination exercise when viewing other art or the wonders of nature.
